The government of the Bahamas has issued a Hurricane Warning for the
Northwestern Bahamas, including the Abacos, Andros Island, Berry
Islands, Bimini, Eleuthera, Grand Bahama Island, and New Providence.

The government of the Bahamas has replaced the Hurricane Watch with
a Tropical Storm Warning for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 AM EDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Matthew was
located near latitude 17.8 North, longitude 74.4 West. Matthew is
moving toward the north near 9 mph (15 km/h) and this general
motion is expected to continue today. A turn toward the
north-northwest is expected by Wednesday, followed by a northwest
turn Wednesday night. On the forecast track, the center of Matthew
will pass near or over southwestern Haiti during the next few
hours, move near eastern Cuba later today, and move near or over
portions of the southeastern and central Bahamas tonight and
Wednesday, and approach the northwestern Bahamas Wednesday night

Maximum sustained winds are near 145 mph (230 km/h) with higher
gusts. Matthew is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Some fluctuations in intensity are possible
during the next couple of days, but Matthew is expected to remain a
powerful hurricane through at least Wednesday night.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 40 miles (65 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 185 miles
(295 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 934 mb (27.58 inches).

PAPILLON - Sylvie et l'équipage à CATSKILL

Sylvie m'a téléphoné pour me donner des nouvelles de leur navigation. Ils sont présentement à Catskill (Riverview) pour le re-mâtage et iront explorer l'ancrage d'Harverstraw (NY) en prévision de la remontée de l'ouragan Matthew. Ils n'ont pas l'intention de se rendre plus au sud jusqu'à ce que l'ouragan ne crée plus de menace sur la côte Est américaine.

MARIE-LAURENCE est convoyé par Edouard jusqu'à Deltaville; présentement arrêté a l'écluse No. 1 pour réparation de la pompe à fuel.

CALBODINE - les nouveaux propriétaires avec leurs enfants sont derrière Papillon dans le Canal Champlain - ainsi que le voilier BLU

VACATIONS AU RÉSEAU LUNDI MATIN

VOMO : Lise Benoit et Johanne quittent la marina de Bonaire cet avant-midi pour s'installer sur un mouillage. Analysent la météo pour les prochains jours avant de reprendre la navigation. Les conditions de mer sont encore fortes à cause de l'ouragan Matthew qui se dirige sur la Jamaique.

PASSION REBELLE : Mathieu et la famille sont à Carriacou - complèteront leurs formalités et séjourneront quelques jours dans les Tobago Cays et aux alentours avant de se rendre en Martinique.

TAKARI : Guy et Sylvie sont à Grenade - je ne les entendais pas bien ce matin et ne connais pas leurs intentions pour leur prochaine navigation

PRANA : Denis et Louise sont à leur ancrage près de Whisper Cove - Beaucoup d'heures de travail hier pour une réparation au frigo...

NEMEA : Jean-Denis et Louise sont maintenant à un mouillage près du Boat Show d'Annapolis. Visiteront les installations jeudi et vendredi et prévoient quitter samedi et reprendre la navigation direction Sud

CARIBBEAN BREEZE : Stéphane est à la marina de Southport; il quittera pour une période de 2 semaines dans le Maine et une autre semaine à Montréal pour travail puis reviendra au bateau par la suite.

AMBITION 1 : Stéphane et Louise sont à Chesapeake City et poursuivront leur navigation dans la baie de Chesapeake en compagnie de C'EST LA VIE; Ils prévoient se rendre à Baltimore pour se mettre à l'abri des vents annoncés en fin de semaine et louer une automobile pour se rendre au Boat Show d'Annapolis

Florida, it is still too soon to rule out possible hurricane

At 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Matthew was
located near latitude 14.6 North, longitude 74.8 West. Matthew is
moving toward the northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h). A turn toward the
north is expected tonight. On the forecast track, the center of
Matthew will approach southwestern Haiti and Jamaica on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 145 mph (230 km/h) with higher
gusts. Matthew is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Some fluctuations in intensity are possible
during the next couple of days, but Matthew is expected to remain a
powerful hurricane into Tuesday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles
(335 km). NOAA data buoy 42058, in the central Caribbean, recently
reported a wind gust to 70 mph (112 km/h).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 945 mb (27.91 inches).

PASSION REBELLE - Mathieu et la famille à CARRIACOU

Voilà ce matin nous avons quiter Saint-George's en Grenade et sommes arrivée à Carriacou d'où nous ferons notre OUT de la Grenade demain matin.

Ensuite les tobago cays pour remonter vers la martinique.

J'aimerais apporter une petite correction au texte sur le blogue du reseau du capitaine, nous quitterons la Martinique autour du 15 novembre pour nous diriger vers les Iles ABC, car on a de la famille qui viennent nous rejoindre pour les fêtes à Curaçao. Début janvier on quiter pour Panama.

À bientot, je vais surement te dire un petit coucou demain matin sur le réseau. De plus mon radio fonctionne maintenant depuis mes modifications, j'arrivais plus à communiquer avec le Pactor et cela m'inquiétait grandement!

Arrivé a Southport Deep Point Marina. Parti de alligator/pungo canaljier 6h30, arrivé a la marina aujourd'hui vers 11h.

A partir de Beaufort hier vers 20h pris la mer jusqu'a Mansonboro inlet

drifting toward the west near 3 mph (6 km/h). A turn toward the
northwest is expected later today, followed by a turn toward
the north tonight. On the forecast track, the center of Matthew
will approach southwestern Haiti and Jamaica on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 140 mph (220 km/h) with higher
gusts. Matthew is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Some fluctuations in intensity are possible
during the next couple of days, but Matthew is expected to remain a
powerful hurricane through Monday night.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles
(335 km).

The minimum central pressure reported by an Air Force Reserve
Hurricane Hunter aircraft is 947 mb (27.96 inches).

MANGATA - Sophie et la famille à L'ILE A VACHE (Haiti)

Alors côté préparatif il me reste à passer le balais dans le cockpit!!! Nous avons une chaîne à l’avant attachée sur un bloc de mooring, 2 ancres de chaque côté. À l’arrière nous sommes attachés dans la mangrove en plus d’avoir une ancre.

Les voiles sont enlevés, les cordages rangés, le dodger, bimini, panneaux solaires et éoliennes sont en sécurité à terre dans une bâtisse de béton.

Pour le moment c’est clame, calme, calme… L’eau n’a pas montée, le vent est à plat, il n,y a même plus de vagues ce matin dans l’espace entre les Cayes et l’île à Vache. Hier ça brassait plus.

On est en mode attente… On fait de l’eau pis du ménage. Pis on répond à tout le monde qui nous écrivent! Thalye joue à Minecraft sur mon iPad, le chat cours après les mouche et ne se terre pas encore… Les chèvres à coté continue de chialer qu’elles n’ont personnes pour s’en occuper! Notre régime de bananes ne mûrit pas assez vite à notre goût. Les enfants du village viennent nous porter des fruits et nager avec Thalye! Pour le moment, c’est un peu la vie comme à l’habitude!

VACATIONS AU RÉSEAU SAMEDI MATIN

PASSION REBELLE Mathieu et la famille ont remis le voilier à l'eau hier et débuteront leur navigation la semaine prochaine vers le Tobago Cays et Bequia. Par la suite, ils se dirigeront ver sla Martinique où ils y rencontreront des amis. Vers la fin octobre leur intention est de traverser vers Panama.

VOMO : Lise Benoit et Johanne sont en marina à Bonaire et y demeureront jusqu'à lundi. Sont bien heureux que l'ouragan Matthew ne soit pas passé sur eux.

PRANA : Denis et Louise sont de retour à leur ancrage de Grenade après le passage de Matthew. Temps chaud et humide

NEMEA : Jean-Denis et Louise sont à South River près d'Annapolis et essaieront de se trouver une place d'ancrage dans Back Creek pour assister au Boat Show.

CARIBBEAN BREEZE : Stéphane a repris sa navigation en solo ce matin via l'ICW et se dirige vers Southport (NC)

AMBITION 1 : Stéphane et Louise sont toujours à Cape May et ont eu du mauvais temps au cours des derniers jours. Ls vents annoncés aujourd'hui dans la Baie Delaware ne sont pas favorables pour une navigation et ils attendront à demain matin pour quitter . Ils sont en compagnie de C'EST LA VIE - Sylvain et Monique

across the central Caribbean Sea today, and be approaching Jamaica
late Sunday.

Hurricane Wind Scale. Some fluctuations in intensity are possible
this weekend, but Matthew is expected to remain a powerful hurricane
