Subject: Repatriation of Canadians from Grenada (West Indies)
For more than a week, nearly thirty Canadians who are part of a Messenger / Facebook group have been trying by all means to return to Canada, without success. As of Monday, March 23, 2020, at 11:59 a.m., Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) will be closed to all except British arrivals.
Note that there are four Air Canada flights scheduled for Toronto / Montreal, March 24-26-28-31, full or nearly full, representing approximately 450 people who wish to return to their country, Canada.
We would greatly appreciate that you make every effort to repatriate us to our country, we, Canadians presently blocked in Grenada.
I note on your Twitter account that you are currently making efforts for several countries but the Caribbean/Grenade seems to be ignored.
We are all ready to return, but Airlines must be allowed to land.
We are all registered on the site of Canadians abroad.
We remain at your disposal for any additional information.
Yours and respectfully.
Group of Canadians in Grenada.
