UNI - Gilles et Nicole vers la VIRGINIE
Nous avons passé 3 jours à la 79th BoatBassin et visités New York. Nous sommes partie pour le Long Island Sound et visiter de beaux endroits; Sag Harbor, Shelter Island, Port Jefferson, Oyster Bay etc. Avec l'application "Blue Chart Garmin Mobile" nous avions accès aux tables de marées, de courants et la localisation de beaucoup d'ancrages. Le passage des Hell's Gates" est facilité. Je recommande vraiment cette application sur iPad à tous ceux qui partent pour le Sud.
Après 3 semaines sur le Long Island Sound, nous sommes allés à Sandy Hook et nous avons donc décider de faire un arrêt à Barnegat avant Cap May. Le 31 juillet, 10 h de navigation voile-moteur pour Barnegat. Barnegat est un très joli port et les plages du New-Jersey sont très belles. Barnegat - Cape May le 2 août, 12 h de navigation voile moteur mais surtout moteur. Nous sommes restés à Cape May un autre deux jours. Le matin du 5 août nous nous levons a 4 h et nous quittons CapeMay pour affronter la baie du Dellaware. Nous avons eu de belles conditions et après 12 h de navigations nous jetons l'ancre dans la petite baie de Chesapeake City. Nous avons fait des arrêts à la Sassafras river, Worton Pt., Rock Hall, Annapolis, Southampton river, St Michaels, Herrington bay, Solomons et pour finir cet après-midi, nous sommes ancrés à l'entrée de la Potomac river.
Annapolis et St-Michaels sont nos coups de cœurs jusqu'à maintenant pour la Chesapeake Bay.
Demain nous passerons dans l'état de Virginia en route toujours vers le sud.
Nous passons vraiment un bel été et avons de la très belle température comparer aux publications que nous voyons sur le site Facebook des "Voileux du Lac Champlain"!
Il as fait très chaud et même un peu trop à notre goût mais ça il faut pas s'en plaindre surtout suite à l'hiver que nous avons eu, mais depuis quelques jours les températures sont un peu plus fraîches et c'est plus confortable (20C la nuit et 26C le jour).
Ici je n'entends pas le réseau le matin je suis trop près .

PAPILLON: A Deltaville mais prêt pour la mer
Papillon à Deltaville, prêt à prendre la mer pour un retour vers Québec.
Départ prévu vendredi matin vers Little Creek puis route au nord vers New-York samedi matin.

> De mon côté, je quitte à Catskill et Pierre prendra lacrelève avec Claude jusqu'à Québec.

Salt Heart: Acore - déplacement
Bonjour tout le monde!!
Cela fait 1 mois et une semaine que je suis ici. J’en ai profité pour faire un maximum de chose des réparations et quelques améliorations, l’intérieur du bateau est plus agréable à voir, et j’ai une table à carte ! Ce matin j’ai fait mes courses d’approvisionnement au super-marcher de la ville, j’étais livré gratuitement à la marina, et au Ponton ou je me trouve ! En début d’après-midi j’ai passé a la capitainerie pour payer ma place qui m’a couté la modeste somme de: 356,54 Euros pour les 5 semaines ! Demain, vers midi, je quitterai la marina de Horta, je prendrai la direction de l’Ile avoisinante, elle est située à 25 NM environ, c’est une navigation de ± 5 heures. J’aurai un vent léger du Sud qui me poussera tranquillement vers: L’Ile de Sao Jorge, pour joindre la marina de Porto-Das-Velas.
Je resterai le temps d’avoir une bonne météo pour aller à l’Ile suivante appelée :
Terceira, J’irai à la marina Praia da Vitoria, qui est localisée à l’Est de l’Ile.
C’est la météo qui me dictera mes départs, surtout que je ne suis pas pressé d’aller vers le sud avant début de Septembre.
La prochaine Ile sera Sao-Miguel et je finirai par Santa Maria avant de prendre la route vers Madeira.
Je prendrai contact avec le Réseau-Du-Capitaine sur HF dès que je commence à naviguer.
Comme d’habitude mes positions seront communiquées par Delorme-In-Reach et Airmail sur le RDC.

PIQUE-NIQUE ANNUEL DU RÉSEAU
Comme à chaque année et ce depuis une vingtaine d'années, les navigateurs, amis des navigateurs et amis du Réseau se réunissent pour un pique-nique au Fort Lennox de St-Paul de l'Ile au Noix et ce, beau temps/mauvais temps car nous pouvons utiliser les installations à l'intérieur du Fort en cas de pluie.
C'est donc un rendez-vous SAMEDI le 15 août à compter de 10h00 au poste d'accueil du Fort Lennox où les animateurs du Réseau vous accueilleront avec un immense plaisir. Un tarif spécial est accordé au groupe pour traverser sur l'île.
Chacun apporte son lunch - donc vraiment pas compliqué ... et vous pouvez inviter vos parents et amis, ils seront les bienvenus !

GRENADE: Kick 'em Jenny volcano is currently at Alert Level ORANGE and there is 5km exclusion zone around the volcano.
What is Kick 'em Jenny?
Kick 'em Jenny is a submarine volcano located 8km north of Grenada. The volcano is about 1300m high, and its summit is currently thought to be about 180m below the surface of the sea. As far as we know, Kick 'em Jenny is the only 'live' (likely to erupt again) submarine volcano in the Eastern Caribbean. It is also the most frequently active volcano in the region, erupting at least 12 times since it was discovered in 1939. The last eruption of Kick 'em Jenny occurred in December 2001. For details of that eruption go to news archives.
The volcano is currently at Alert Level ORANGE and there is 5km exclusion zone around the volcano.
Maritime interests have been told to strictly observe the Kick em’ Jenny Volcano Exclusion Zone of five kilometres around the summit of the volcano. Highly elevated level of seismic and/or fumarolic activity or other unusual activity. Eruption may begin with less than twenty-four hours notice.
Action by Scientists:
- All regional governments alerted through Disaster Coordinators and Venezuelan diplomatic missions. - Sauteurs Observatory continuously manned. - Continuous communication with NERO. (GRENADA and St. Vincent and the Grenadines). - Summit area under continuous visual surveillance. - Scientists and emergency personnel within exclusion zones maintain continuous contact with the Observatory.
Recommended action by Civil Authorities and the Public:
- Vulnerable communities advised of evacuation routes and transport put on standby. - Local radio stations in Grenada, St. Vincent, barbados and Trinidad placed on alert. - Public listens to local radio continuously for updates and visits the Seismic Research Unit website if possible. -All shipping stays outside the first exculsion zone (1.5km from the summit). - Non-essential shipping (pleasure craft etc) stays 5km clear of the summit (second exclusion zone). - Visiting scientists who are not taking part in essential monitoring are regarded as non-essential.

Champlain Canal - Upper Hudson River Dredging Project
July 13, 2015
All mariners are advised that the upper Hudson River dredging project, administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and General Electric (GE), will be in progress during the 2015 Navigation Season between the confluence of the Mohawk River and Lock C-8 in Fort Edward. The dredging operations are lighted, have day shapes and arrow boards displayed. Additional informational signs have been posted in the project area. Boaters should follow all instructions as indicated.
All boaters must contact the Vessel Traffic Center on VHF Channel 18A for transit information through the project area.
Activities Planned for the Week of July 13, 2015:
•Barge unloading operations immediately south of Lock C-8.
•Barge operations immediately north of Lock C-5.
•Barge operations in the vicinity of buoy Red 60.
•No wake buoys the land cut north of Lock C-6 marking the no wake zone established in the vicinity of the barge unloading areas.
•Dredge operations in the vicinity of buoy Red 48.
•Backfill operations in the vicinity of buoy Red 56.
•Backfill operations in the vicinity of buoy Red 62.
•Dredge activities outside navigation channel in vicinity of buoy Red 190.
•Buoys used to aid dredge contractor located outside the navigational channel are located north of buoy Red 56.
•Buoys used to aid dredge contractor located just outside the navigational channel are located south of buoy Red 60.
•Buoys used to aid dredge contractor located outside the navigational channel are located south of buoy Red 62A.
•Buoy used to aid dredge contractor located outside the navigational channel is located just south of buoy Red 64A.
Note: Orange colored round (Norwegian) buoys are special use buoys for the dredging project and should not to be mistaken for navigational aids. Also, additional uncharted red & green navigational aids have been placed to help guide vessels through the project.
PASS WITH CAUTION - NO WAKE ZONE
Speed limits between the confluence of the Mohawk River and Lock C-8 will be 5 mph in all work zones. In addition, please be mindful of your wakes and when approaching work platforms, stop all forward motion and proceed at a “No-Wake” speed. Local and state marine patrols will enforce posted speed limits.
