Day 2
Logged 295 nautical miles
Winds are WSW at 11kts apparent
We are been sailing hard to try to head NW to catch the winds. Doing this will bring us into the trade winds later then most of the Rally however we felt that it was better to catch the winds and use our engine less so early in the trip.
The winds will be stronger on this route and be a close reach. Nyctea should enjoy this.
All is well on board. Our crew of 3 is working out very well and settling in nicely to the daily routine. George even tacked the boat early this morning by himself.
We have not started fishing yet as the fridges are full despite have some great meals on board. Little Parker is a clever little guy and managed to get out of his harness - hence no longer being tethered in and all of this at 4am in the morning. Talk about heart palpatations for me. My little hoodini.
I have not been able to contact the Reseau du Captain as they cannot hear me but will continue to try every day till they can.
