Day 4
Logged 593 nautical miles
Winds are NW at 20kts apparent

Still in unsettled conditions with wave of 10-12ft on a close reach point of sail. Sailing with storm jib and double reefed main. Things always go wrong in the night and I guess that is why we call our vessel NYCTEA to guide us through all of these adventures. Our baby stay came loose at 12am. This is what holds our storm jib. Luckily we had a wire from the clew of the storm jib to the chain plate preventing the sail from flying out of control. Michel and I were on deck in high seas securing the stay and sail which we had to douse. Again we thank NYCTEA for seeing us through this. Crew is doing well and all looking forward to heading more south into the trades.
