Voilier échoué sur un récif au nord de Cuba

The position of 22 59.9 N / 79 48.4 W is the position reported by those in direct contact with the S/V Moya Maria. The vessel is on a reef approximately 10 miles off the North coast of Cuba.

As of 1800 hrs EST today, according to reports on the Maritime Mobile Service Network (MMSN) on frequency 14.300 MHz, a salvage vessel named "Enterprise" is enroute to assist the S/V Moya Maria. The Moya Maria is not taking on water at this time, and has been reporting into the MMSN every 15 minutes. The response from hams has been incredible, making sure that communications are solid and contact with the vessel's owners is not lost. This incident has been ongoing since approximately 0700 this morning, with constant communications with the vessel.

Not to beat a dead horse, but had the stricken vessel only had a satellite phone, constant communications with all the assisting stations would have been impossible. A SSB radio is necessary on any vessel going offshore.

The professionalism exhibited by the MMSN and the net controllers has been extremely impressive. Bravo Zulu!
